Setup:
Virus scan of the downloaded file is necessary. This is an “.exe” file and that makes it available for corruption during download. After you have downloaded it, run “Download_wapt.exe”. The install is eay to use. Basic Next, Next, Next… Finish model.
I have observed that on the last page (the one with the finish) there was a “checked” black field that I have no idea what may have been written there. In order to find out, I installed it once with the “thing” unchecked and then checked. That is how I found out that it was (as expected) some sort of the “Run WAPT now” phrase.
So if it happens to you, now you know what it is.

Using:
If you have downloaded the trial, then first you have to click “Start Trial Period”. The main settings of the program are set by a wizard at the first use of the program. For those who are inexperienced, it’s ok to leave it as it is and just click “Next” every time.
Then you have to create a new scenario. There is a “New” button in the upper toolbar. Again, if you are not an expert, you can click “Create Default”.
After that, you just set you website parameters and the test’s parameters (how many users, what would they see, what would they download – you can define this as a “profile” for the user. The test will not run unless you define at least one user profile) click “Run test”, and you’ll get the results in the log section.
If there are any errors in you scenario, the program will tell you what is missing so you cannot get it wrong.

Process:
The governing process for this program is “WAPT.exe”, so if you are searching through your processes and you think this is suspicious, do not worry, this is not a virus. The process will remain in memory only for as long as the main window is shown or minimized. It uses only 13MB of RAM memory and that puts it in the low resources category.
